Just above Alteidet Camping lies the towering mountain peak Mikkaltind with its 497 meters above sea level. An exciting trip that can be undertaken directly from the campsite, or by driving up to Jøkelfjordeidet and then walking. 

Turn off towards Jøkelfjord and drive about 2 km up towards Jøkelfjordeidet. At the top you will find a car park to the left of the road, which is also the starting point for the mountain peak Laslettinden. Follow the road upwards until you find a gravel road on the right. The way up to the top follows a dirt road, but with a relatively good climb. 

You will have a great view all the way up. At the top you can see beyond Alteidet and towards Kvænangstidene. From the Ut i NORD mailbox at the top, you can follow a path to the left that leads to a striking view towards Langfjordbotn. A beautiful and moderately difficult trip suitable for the whole family.
